This is for my loyal readers (all 3 of you), who have been bugging me (nagging, actually) to write a new post. So here it is. And the subject of the day is... procrastination!
Why is it that we put off doing the things we know are inevitable??? Examples: exercising, bathing suit shopping, getting out of bed in the morning, preparing lessons, blogging, to name a few. The blogging one is obvious... I know that if I don't post for more than say, 1 week, I'm going to hear it from my sisters-in-law (whom I love oh so dearly :) So, why don't I just sit down for a few minutes and do it? Procrastination. I have to teach a combined lesson to my YW on Sunday with a member of the Bishopric in attendance. Why haven't I even started yet? Procrastination. And why didn't I just wake up when my alarm went off the other morning, instead of turning it off and, consequently, making all 3 of my kids late for school (which, believe it or not, NEVER happens around here)? The answer, you guessed it, procrastination.
So, let's stop the madness and unite against this horrible, ugly thing called procrastination. Let's just buck up and check off those to-do lists, no matter how unpleasant they may be, in a timely fashion. Let's just get it over with already and move on with our lives. Can we do it??? Great! I'll get started on that... tomorrow :)
On another note, things around here are going well. School is in full swing and the kids are involved in all of their many extra-curricular activities (piano, guitar, softball, soccer, dance, drama, etc.). Whew! I get tired just thinking about it. It makes that 6 hours a week of kid-free time all the more sweet. Glorious actually.
Okay, some quick kid updates: Parker started guitar and comes home from school everyday and "jams" for hours. He's also on New Moon of the Twilight series... he's addicted. Summer has attended 4 birthday parties in the last 2 weeks. Plus my friend just named her new baby Summer. I guess she's just so popular. Aubrey was selected by her teacher for a 'Principal's Pride' award at school for being an excellent student. She was so proud of herself. And Macy finally learned how to wipe her own bum after pooping. We're just so proud!!!
Also, I'm starting a new project. I tend to do that when I have too much to do already. I am going to put up beadboard in the kids bathroom and paint it white and the walls beige. I'm also looking to re-do the decor and get rid of the 'duck' theme - it's a little young for my big kids now. Any ideas for making a kids bathroom cute and unisex at the same time? Love to hear some suggestions.
UGH! I just found out that my TiVo didn't record The Office premiere OR Grey's Anatomy. Stupid piece of crap. Oh, did I mentioned that I'm having anger management issues lately. Just ask my dog! I'll work on that one too... another day.
