Family, friends and... organizing

What a fun weekend! We packed up and headed to Eden, Utah (up Odgen canyon about an hour and a half away) where we stayed at a sweet house with the Christen's and the Smith's (technically my step sister and step brother, but that sounds so impersonal and mean - they really are family). Anyway, the boys hit the slopes (any surprise there?) for "the best powder ever". Parker even got brave and jumped off a small cliff, yes, cliff with onlookers yelling, "Way to go little man!" He was in heaven! The girls stayed at the house and just relaxed. Let's just say I am all caught up on my celebrity gossip (Angelina is pregnant with twins???) and I am also about 3 pound heavier. No really... 3 pounds! (Howz that for weight gain, Karen?) Who knew that eating M&M's from the super large bag could be so detrimental. Before you know it, you've consumed the equivalent of like 8 small bags. I need to seriously hit the gym this week. Alisa, you are my motivation (and congrats on the weight loss... keep it up!) As a side note, Eden, Utah got the most snow of anywhere in the state today totaling 28". Thank heaven for 4-wheel drive! And wouldn't you know it, i forgot my camera! Sorry, no pics :( You'll just have to imagine the looks on Aubrey's and Summer's faces when they did snow angels... in their bathing suits. Don't ask...

On another subject, i have started some organization projects. I get this way about once, maybe twice a year, where i want to go through EVERY cupboard, drawer and closet and just organize (Jennifer, where are you when i need you?). Since that is not a realisitic possibility - especially while my kids are STILL off-track (one more week... I can do it!) - I have settled for my junk room, which is soon to be called my "craft room". My good friend Nicole helped me get started and we emptied the entire room into the hallway. I bought some modular storage units which will be perfect for organizing all my junk. I am hoping to paint the room and put everything together this week. I'll keep you posted and take some pictures. I just know you are dying to see it :)

Yet some more good news: MY LITTLE SIS IS MOVING TO UTAH (I think)!!! I am so excited. Just had to put that in there. What could be better than family being close (but not too close, right Kan?? :) Let's just nobody tell her about this horrible winter we're having, okay???

And finally, a shout out to friends everywhere. Aren't friends the best? My oldest and dearest friend, Nicole, came for a visit last weekend. We sell it to our husbands as a "scrapbooking" weekend, but really we just talk, go out to eat, visit some more, catch a movie, shop a little, and then chat again until way too late. It's the best to have friends who love you for you. So, thanks to Nicole, and all of my friends who i truly cherish. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Sorry for the long post...

I am so jealous of your organization. I definitely wish I were there. Remember I came out with Brooklyn last year to help you do your girl's rooms. So fun!!! Now I need you to come down here and help me paint and decorate my entire house. I am moving into a white walled insane asylum. Please help!!!!
Sounds like you guys had fun on your weekend excursion. Remember, we have no snow here and I a wearing flip-flops. It's time for visit.

After you are done organizing your house, can you come over and do mine?

Ya, could you come over and do mine too. I seem to be in denial that I have a baby coming in 7 weeks. I'm so not ready. Your weekend sounds like it was so fun. No worries about the 3 lbs, they'll drop right off. Just head to that class at the Treehouse where you soar like a bird! I'm sure that will do the trick!! I feel like I haven't seen you guys in forever. I miss you!

I wish I was there for the "scrapbooking" weekend! You inspire me with your organization, maybe I can get motivated to put away the three foot tall pile of clothes on my desk that has been there for six weeks!
